Get Involved With Community Outreach
Current outreach opportunities
Violet Springs Nursing Home
We are partnering with the neighboring nursing home to bring some joy to their residents. There are 2 ways you can get involved:
1. Write cards or notes to be delivered to residents. Receiving mail will brighten their day!
2. Provide small items that can be included on their trays for meals (i.e. kleenex, chapstick, hand lotions, etc). You can bring your items to the church on Sunday morning or shop them from our Amazon wishlist.
Homeless Blessing Bags
We are continuing to assemble and distribute blessing bags to the homeless. Shop our Amazon list online to have items sent directly to our team who is assembling these. You can also email email@example.com to arrange a porch pick-up if you have items to donate.
Are you in need of support? Whether you are in need of food assistance or support with substance abuse and recovery, we have compiled a list of local resources to help. If you need additional support beyond what is found on this list, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Blessing Box Construction
We are partnering with the Columbus Blessing Project to help construct new Blessing Boxes! All wood, supplies and instructions to build the boxes will be provided. If you're willing to help build a box (or a few boxes!) please fill out the sign-up form and we will let you know when the supplies come in.
Stowe Mission Work Day
September 28th from 9:00am-12:30pm
We are taking a team to Stowe Mission (888 Parsons Ave, Columbus) for a work day at their facility. Stowe Mission's mission is to bring Gospel hope and restoration to people facing hardships. They do this through various programs such as their community kitchen, after school program, dental clinic and pregnancy resource center. We will be doing some clean up around the facility - all ages (including youth and kids) are welcome to participate. If you'd like to volunteer, please fill out the form below.
Partnerships + Ongoing Outreach
Take what you need / Leave what you can
Did you know that Legacy is an official Blessing Box location? Well, the rules are simple. Bring what you can, take what you need. We ask that items donated be unexpired and non-perishable. Help us keep our Blessing Box stocked by dropping off non-perishable items or by shopping our Amazon wishlist for items to be added to the box.
matthew 25:35 Ministry
The Matthew 25:35 Ministry is an outreach for the homeless and marginalized community in Columbus Ohio by offering food, supplies, and the Word of God. Legacy regularly partners with Matthew 25:35 ministries to provide meals, hygiene kits and other supplies through their outreach projects.
Through a partnership with One Child, we offer people the chance to sponsor a child at a Hope Center in Honduras. Through the sponsorship, the child receives care in four key areas: Faith, Community, Education and Health. We also have the opportunity to take a missions team to visit the children and serve at the Hope Center.
Every year in July, we come together with churches all over the world for our biggest outreach event. We have numerous projects all over our community, giving people the opportunity to serve and love like Jesus in tangible ways.
